Plastic Logic partners AT&T

Plastic Logic recently announced that it's new eReader, scheduled to begin the first phase of piloting later this year, will be partnering with AT&T's 3G network with WiFi access.

Amazon has come under fire from users who are disgruntled with lack of WiFi, so Plastic Logic may have a one-up right there. But will this new handheld eReader really be a replacement for the Kindle? Not entirely, no.

Plastic Logic measures a large 8.5 x 11 inches. Although slim and lightweight, that's A4 letter size - not handy to slip into a purse, read by the pool or standing in line at the grocery store. Instead, Plastic Logic looks to be marketing to the business sector with its large screen geared to business documents, newspapers and periodicals - going up against the Kindle DX rather than Kindle 2.
