The Girl With...../ Millenium Series

I've just come to the end of Stieg Larsson's two "The Girl Who...." novels & I am now at a loss as to what to read next! I didn't expect to enjoy these books at all... indeed when I started to read "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" I didn't expect to even finish it - a little slow to begin with, and all those Swedish names & places to follow!

But it wasn't too long before the twisted plot of Mikael Blomkvist & Lisbeth Salander got under my skin in these clever thrillers. Although I don't praise them as the best books ever written - as I've heard a few doing - I was left with a pang of regret last night when I finished the second book, "The Girl Who Played With Fire".

Alas, another year to wait for the last in the trilogy in the US, "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. Originally meant to be a much longer series, sadly the author died in 2004, bringing his work to an untimely end. I can only hope that we're not left on a cliffhanger after Hornets' Nest as we are after Played With Fire!
