Kindle book price drops

It looks like amazon are really kicking in the price drops, now that they have re-gained control of pricing from the major publishing houses.

For several years, Amazon were forced into the Agency Model pricing, where publishers could fix prices and Amazon/ Barnes and Noble etc could do nothing about it. They could drop paper prices, but not kindle book prices.

Well the US government agreed with the sellers and the readers: this wasn't fair and was contrary to laws protecting competition in pricing. And so the publishers were sued. Over the past months, the publishers backed down, and now we see the results.
