New Kindle Paperwhite launched and available to pre-order

I have been waiting for this, hoping they'd bring out a new Paperwhite since my Kindle died a few weeks ago. I waited, rather than jump in and get the old one, and it was the first time I have been without a Kindle e-ink in more than 4 years. It took a lot of patience!

This new Paperwhite looks awesome, and I am so tempted to click the Buy button - except there is no option for Text to Speech on it. I like TTS. If I am in the middle of a great book, sometimes the only way my family gets dinner is if I can cook while listening to my book.

I have a Kindle Fire, but those 1st generations didn't come with TTS option. So what to do, what to do?

It does look nice though - faster page turns, more contrast, better light and snazzy options like the ability to flip through a book, and I like the Time to Read feature - that tells you how long it will take you to read the chapter. That might help me get to bed on time once in a while. Without doubt, Kindle e-inks like this offer the best reading experience available - yes, better than paper, in my experience, and far far better than a tablet.

The Kindle Paperwhite, for pure reading and not listening, looks excellent and if I get over my little grudge, I might have one by next month (Pre-order to start shipping on September 30, 2013.)

Currently $119 for wifi, the new 3G version will be out soon.
