Kindle Tip: Friends sending documents to your Kindle

Did you know that your friends, family & co-workers can send documents to your kindle?  This is great for sharing things like recipes, agenda, letters or reports for work.

There are a few things you need to know first. Go to your Amazon Kindle settings on the Amazon Website. That has changed recently. You will find it here
http://bit.ly/MYK-page then click Settings tab on the right hand side.

1) First, you need to provide your Kindle's email address
You can find that in your kindles settings, or on that Settings page, scroll to Send-to-Kindle E-Mail Settings. There you will find the email address of each kindle you have registered.

2) Next you need to add them to your approved sender list. This is in place to prevent people spamming your Kindle!
Scroll to Approved Personal Document E-mail List > Add email address.

Now they can email .doc, .txt, .html and pdf documents to you. Photos work too!

3) If you have 3G, you can avoid charges by setting a maximum cost or disable 3G receiving but scrolling to  Whispernet Delivery OptionsYou can also add the word 'free' to your email address, for example name@free.kindle.com - this ensures WiFi delivery only.
