Kindle Fire tip: "recommended items"

At the bottom of the home page of some Kindle fires, there is a section of ads for recommended content. To many people this can be rather annoying and cluttering. To remove this feature:

1. Pull down Quick Settings menu from top of screen.
2. Scroll down and tap the Home Screen option,
3. Disable the Show/Hide Recommendations option by tapping the button into the Hide position.
