I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of this book through NetGalley and was delighted with this well written legal thriller.

Aroostine Higgins is a Native American who, at the age of seven, was adopted by white parents when her grandfather died. She retained a lot of her native intelligence and was a natural choice to investigate a problem with another Native American tribe in Oregon. Using a combination of native intuition and her legal training as a Federal Prosecutor she attempts to unravel a scheme of embezzlement at a tribal casino.

Her investigation leads her to more than she expected including theft of military weapons, murder and an attempt on the lives of both her and her husband.

All in all, a very intriguing plot masterfully told. This will keep you turning page right up to the conclusion.
