Note... prices aren't all the same as US. Some will be higher, some less, some promos in US, some in Canada, some in both. Different publishers, different operating costs, different taxes etc lead to different prices. I've discussed this before: Kindle ebooks - price differences, country to country - there are numerous legitimate reasons for price variances.
I mention this because the announcement on the Amazon facebook page was met with almost nothing but complaint.
